In August 2019 Aurania welcomed Ecuador’s Vice-Minister of Mining Mr. Fernando L. Benalcazar, his colleagues, and Shuar indigenous leader Ruben Pitiur (President of OSHE) for a brief talk on the future of mining in Ecuador. After a productive meeting and quick photo shoot, Mr. Benalcazar flew out to a remote Shuar indigenous community in Aurania’s project area to bring an important message to the people… “Ecuador’s economic future is in mining.”
